Should you “Hire for attitude, Train for skill”?

I think this comes down to your Definition Of Attitude, is this the positive go get-em attitude you see with the so called big hitters, they talk the talk, the are full of buzz and come across as being able to do anything you ask of them. Or is it the confidence that comes from a person knowing their strengths and how they can deliver for you?

If it is the first then you are Hiring For Failure, this fail due to the fact what happens when their expectations of pay increases don’t match that of their boss? What happens when something outside of work happen
